Celebrating Lives Well-Lived: Love and Legacy in our Community

Written by on July 27, 2025

Life is a precious journey, and we have recently lost two incredible members of our community: John W. Dixon and Janet Hagmann Ungerer. John, an 85-year-old farmer, dedicated his life to both his family and the land, while Janet, at 84, was the embodiment of love and kindness. Together, they touched the hearts of many, leaving a legacy that truly represents how love can build bridges across generations. Who knew farming and faith could mix so well, kind of like chocolate and peanut butter—just meant to be!

John Dixon is remembered not only for his farming prowess but also for his role as a devoted family man. He spent countless hours nurturing his family—and let’s not forget, he even tried his hand at coaching basketball! Janet hung her hat on being the quintessential grandma, showering her loved ones with warmth and soulful memories. If every family was blessed with someone like Janet and John, I bet family reunions would come with a side of magic instead of just potato salad!

As the community mourns their passing, it’s a time to reflect on what truly matters: love, service, and the connections we build with others. So, what’s your favorite memory of a loved one who left a special mark on your heart? Let’s share and celebrate those hoofprints on our souls together!
