"They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. THAT'S the CHICAGO way." Great Lakes Brewing Company has some amazing, award-winning beers, so I was really looking forward to this one. Sadly, I chilled it too cold, so when I took that first sip, it lacked a great deal. So, I sat and admired the rich coppery amber color and let it warm up and settle whilst I played some Mass Effect 2. After a while, I returned and found it much better. Not as good as some others, but a decent, nutty, semi-sweet caramel-flavored ale. Nice hops but not overwhelming. A hint of bitter on the finish. Decent beer, but this brewer can do much better (and has...Edmund Fitzgerald Porter FTW!)

I was a little underwhelmed by this beer. Maybe it was because I have had such great things from this brewery. The fact that they were doing an amber was quite exciting for me, however my expectations fell a bit short when I tried it. Don't get me wrong, it was good but I just have come to expect such great things from Great Lakes.

Always been a fan of the beer's from Great Lakes Brewing Company. (I agree with Turner, Edmund Fitzgerald Porter FTW) I actually shared this beer with Joey Chicago from Devour the Day...His last name is Chicago, kinda felt I had too. This brew is all about the caramel malt, the dark color and hints of dark fruit makes it more piney. Medium body, good finish at the end. I think Joey liked it as well because he slammed it like a shot.
