Turner Watson: 4/5 Stars
So, next week we'll be sampling the legendary Shiner Bock. Yes, THAT one. As a result, I got a little confused when they brought us this baby. So I popped the lid off (sidebar: hey, import breweries and micobrewers...when do you think you might enter the 1990's and give us twist-off caps?) and mmmmm-MMMMM!!! CARAMEL! MALTS! FLOWERS! HOPS!! Yes, I said "flowers." There's a certain flowery fruitiness in this bad boy, but with great body and robust flavor. Maybe there's a bit of orange peel in here or lemongrass or something, because there's a bit of that aftertaste but it's not too much. It's a nice setup for Big Brother next week. Can't wait!
John TheMexican:5/5 Stars: This is the beer company that provided the beer I grew up drinking in Austin, Texas. That was when dime bags cost a dime and good beer was 35 a keg! Nothing will ever not let me love any product these guys come out with. So yeah, 5 stars. And from an IPA. Eat it hippie.
Barry Thickk: 3.5/5 Stars
I ABSOLUTELY love Shiner Bock so I was curious to sample this ale. This Ale was very balanced with Malt, Hops & that hint of Caramel. The after taste reminded me of Sam Adams spring beer. So when mother nature dumps 10" of wet snow on us & you have to shovel the driveway, Id go with a different beer. When its actually spring I will give this beer another shot.
